THE
OWLETTE
Working with Kennesaw State University's TRIO Programs, I am responsible for the digital media that gives our students a platform to express their ideas and ensure that they see other students who share their background succeed.
The Owlette serves as an annual magazine of the KSU TRIO Summer Academy, published at the end of each summer program. My role was to organize student work and design a cohesive magazine that complies with all KSU TRIO branding guidelines. The Owlette is then distributed to KSU TRIO students and used as a promotional material for the program.
The magazine features our students' writings, artwork, and pictures which capture the events that took place during the summer. 73% of all KSU TRIO students are going to be first generation college students and are classified as low-income families. This publication offers them a platform for their voice to be heard among their peers and community and to begin envisioning themselves in a collegiate environment where they can develop their interests.

GHC MEN'S BASKETBALL FLYERS
In addition to understanding the impact that digital media has on visual culture as a whole, another important aspect of the responsibility associated with content creation is the recognition of the effect digital media has on the individual.
These posters were created for the Georgia Highlands College Men's Basketball Club, where many of the players are people of color and can also be classified in lower than average socioeconomic standing. This poster series was made with the intent to foster a more inclusive approach to creating GHC's visual environment and build traditionally underrepresented individuals' recognition of their demographic in a collegiate environment.
